We unveiled the latest evolution of our platform technology, PelaFlex. By mid-year, MPS was revenue-generating—leading energy developers worldwide commissioned us to undertake engineering studies for upcoming projects.

We secured £4.5m in equity funding to drive the development, optimisation and detailed design of our pioneering technology. A further £3.5m from a UK Government offshore wind grant propelled us forward.

With £12.8m in funding from the Welsh Government and £2.3m in equity investment, we set our sights on commercial-scale deployment.

Twelve months of testing validated the platform’s performance, paving the way for refinements and the formal expansion of our intellectual property portfolio to include deep-water wind.

Our medium-scale prototype platform hit the water, demonstrating the platform’s key strengths: easy transport, seamless deployment, efficient maintenance, and the ability to generate grid-compliant electricity. Our team – and momentum – kept growing.

After rigorous sea trials, simulations, and tank testing, we had proof – our platform technology worked. With £5.5m in funding, including a £3.5m grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and £2m in equity investment, we accelerated the development of our medium-scale prototype.

Marine Power Systems was founded with a bold vision: to unlock the power of the oceans. Our first patents were filed, setting the stage for a new era in offshore energy.
