Marine Power Systems Ltd (MPS) is seeking an experienced document control to support the delivery of the WaveSub Megawatt Scale Demonstrator project in a successful and quality led manner.


Working from the main office in Swansea, the Lead Document Controller will be responsible for:

  • Control of all project and company documentation.
  • Development and continuous improvement of MPS document control policies and procedures and systems (databases, software, EDMS etc).
  • Development and continuous improvement of MPS Electronic Data Management Systems.
  • Control of communication matters related to document control.
  • Tracking and reporting on document status, dates and key performance.
  • Running document control meetings.
  • Controlling receipt, review, and approval of third-party documentation.
  • Controlling transmittal of documents to contractors.
  • Control of access of all documents within MPS and to wider project teams and contractors.
  • Development and management of folder structures.
  • Management and control of access permissions.
  • Training and auditing of internal teams and contractor document control processes.
  • Supporting WaveSub project control processes e.g. change control, BoM control etc.
  • Engineering document support, including some drawing work, BOM controls etc.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience


  • Demonstrable expertise in the development and management of document control processes.
  • Proven track record in the management and control of documents on projects within the renewable energy and/or oil and gas industries.
  • Experience of engineering & project management processes e.g. CAD design, CAD data management, BOMs, change management, engineering document quality assurance checking, risk management, procurement management.
  • Strong IT literacy.
  • Setup and management of SharePoint sites.
  • Experienced in use of EDMS software and systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work under challenging timescales.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.


  • Degree in business administration or similar.
  • Experience in use of CAD.
